Instagrammer @Solveigsel speaks and plays with Pierrot la Lune
We really appreciate our customers and some of them are regulars and have been very loyal since our very first SS14 collection. One of them is Solveig and every time she posts on instagram I smile and feel so grateful…
Please meet Solveig and get inspired by the way Solveig plays nicely with Pierrot la Lune when she styles her cute children.
Can you tell a little bit about yourself and your kids, their age and where you live and so on.
I am 32 years old and live in Jørpeland outside of Stavanger in Norway with my man and kids, Leon 7yr and Tuva 4yr.
When did you start being a active instagrammer?
I started on Instagram just for fun, but became more active when I discovered all the inspiration and wonderful accounts out there. I love to look at pictures that gives me a good feeling and that inspires me.
You knit yourself, how did this begin and is it a hobby or professional?
I learned to knit by my grandmother, but did not start to enjoy knitting before i bought the big book of boy knit by Charlott Pettersen. To actually make clothes the way you want them to be and to choose the fabric is just great. I love choosing colors for my next project and the feeling of finishing a new piece is amazing. Unfortunatly i am a slow knitter with a lot om ny hands so it is just a hobby.
You have been a loyal Pierrot la Lune customer and supporter from the very first collection Spring / Summer 2014, can you put some words on what makes Pierrot la Lune special for you?
I remember the feeling I got by looking at the pictures from the first compaign. The girls with the flowered dresses. Tuva had just turned one so all of the clothes were to big, but I bought her a collar and used it on all of her jackets and coats. I love the colors, the fabrics and the timeless design. The clothes can be worn for years as they grow with the child.
How much does the sustainable part of Pierrot la Lune matter for you?
It feels good knowing that the people who make the clothes are fairly payed and i like the natural colored fabrics that dont hurt the planet. I love the quality of the fabrics, the clothes can be worn for years and handed over to siblings.
Do you have an idea of why Pierrot la Lune is so appreciated in Norway?
I think we just love the printed fabrics and the design of Pierrot la Lune in Norway. The clothes can be worn in every occation in any time of the year.
Can you give some styling tips to how you always make your children look so cute?
I like to mix Pierrot la Lune with basic knitwear in basic colors. The collars are perfect to add a little something to a simple outfit. I can use the same clothes and just change the basic knit and have a complete different outfit.
The new stockings and socks makes all the difference!
Do you have some favourite Pierrot la Lune styles and which ones?
I love the basic cotton jerseys. Perfect for school and kindergarden! And the shirts are also a great favorite! But i think the all time favorite has to be the collars. A easy way to spike up a simple outfit and works on every sweather or dress.
Thank you so much Solveig, I love your Instagram feed and feel great inspiration from your delicate sense of styling.
